In the New Year, it is obvious that we think of the blessings as well and the distressing moments of our life. In doing so, it also helps us to remember what God taught us and showed us how He was faithful through all of it.
A poor lady walked into a grocery store…She approached the owner and humbly asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food. The grocer said that he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store. But the lady pleaded that she would bring the money as soon as she can. In a very reluctant voice the grocer asked her to put her grocery list on the scales and told her he would give the groceries according to the weigh of the grocery list.
The lady hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.
The eyes of the grocer showed amazement as the scales went down and stayed down. Since the scale did not balance, the grocer, staring at the scales continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.
It was not a grocery list; it was a prayer, which said: ‘Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.’ The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.
My dear Friends,
This gives us a fresh new outlook of the year and enables us to move forward with opened hearts and minds to receive whatever God has for us. We can confidently walk into anything God brings our way because we can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13).Whether it’s a problem or a possibility, Nothing is too big for God. When we are willing to let God work in us and through us, He will always stretch us and grow us. Remember that our Lord is effectual in working wonders and supernatural things (Isaiah 28:29). He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” “The LORD, have never forsaken those who seek Him.”Psalm 9:10. He is already there for you to meet all you needs. There's no limit to what God can do in your life and nothing is impossible with God. God opens doors that no man can shut and also closes doors that no man can open. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Christ and give thanks to the Lord for getting us through another year as we look forward to what He has for us up ahead!
May the Lord bless you and your family with a blessed New Year!
