Once, a boy was hospitalized for a major complication in his heart. One day the surgeon came to his room to examine him, the boy asked him “what are you going to do in my heart? The surgeon said, “I’ll open your heart to see how much damage has been done…” “But when you open up my heart, you’ll find Jesus in there the boy interrupted.”The surgeon looked up, annoyed. Again the boy asked what else you will do. The surgeon said “When I see how much damage has been done, I’ll sew your heart and chest back up and I’ll plan what to do next.” “But you’ll find Jesus in my heart” said the boy. Unable to answer him the surgeon left. The surgeon sat in his office and started to write, No hope for transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy: painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis:, “death within one year.” Then he asked aloud “Why did You do this? You’ve put him here; you’ve put him in this pain; and you’ve cursed him to an early death. Why?”
The Lord answered and said, “The boy, My lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock, and will forever be. Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow.”
The surgeon’s tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. “You created that boy, and You created that heart. He’ll be dead in months. Why?” The Lord answered, “The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for he has done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb.” The surgeon wept and said “Lord I am the lost lamb. Let me also be a part of your flock.”
As the surgery was over, the surgeon came to the boy and sat beside him. The boy awoke and whispered, “Did you cut open my heart?” “Yes,” said the surgeon.“What did you find?” asked the boy. “I found Jesus there,” said the surgeon.
Today let us examine ourselves. Is Jesus is our heart? Is Jesus with us? Are we a part of His flock or part of the lost flock? My Dear friends Jesus was born to save us from our sins. 1 Peter 4:7 says that “The end of all things is near”. “The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
So as we celebrate Christmas, let us also repent from our sins and let Jesus to come into our Heart. So that we may join in His flock and be” blameless, and holy as you (we) stand before God our Father when our Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people. Amen.” 1 Thessalonians 3:13
