Two inseparable friends, Sam and Peter, met with an accident on their way to the City. Peter woke up blind and Sam became lame. Sam went to the doctor’s room and told him something. The Dr was moved at Sam's deed. Sam pleaded the doctor to promise him that he won’t tell Peter anything regarding his talk with the doctor. Months later when Peter had recuperated considerably, he stopped hanging around with Sam. He felt discouraged and embarrassed to spend time with a disabled person like Sam. Sam was lonely and disheartened, since he didn't have any body else other than Peter to count on. Things went from bad to worse. And one day Sam died in despair. When Peter was called on his burial, he found a letter waiting for him. Dr. gave it to him with an expressionless face and said" This is for you Peter. Sam had asked me to give it to you when he was gone". In the letter he had said: "Dear Peter, I have kept my promise in the end to lend you my eyes if anything had happened to them. Now there is nothing more that I can ask from God, than the fact, that you will see the world through my eyes. You will always be my best friend........Sam".
My dear friends, “There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends John 15:13”.. Can we find a reliable friend in this world? Is there any assurance that a friend will come with till the end..
Will a friend be able to carry all our tribulation? Will a friend carry our burdens? But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother Proverbs 18:24” He is Jesus. He carried our tribulations; he carried our burdens. “. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53”
Today let us realize. Like Peter we are ingratitude towards our Loving Lord Jesus who gave his life for our transgressions. What have we done for His sacrifice? We have stopped loving Him; we have stopped talking to him; we have forgotten that he is the one for us in times of trouble. He is the only friend who is loyal to us even till the end. “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.” Says the bible.
Dear friend, You may be in the same situation today. You may be betrayed by your loved ones. Do not worry. Remember Jesus is always there for you as a Loyal friend , as lovable father, caring mother …..etc. Accept Him today. Ask Him to come into your life and he will change your life and you will be a blessing.
